WEDNESDAY

I'm really addicted to Sims 3 for iPhone right now. It's probably more addictive than the computer version because you can just whip it out and play it whenever you want. I haven't gotten enough sleep for the past few nights because I stay up trying to get a promotion or to make more virtual friends.

Anyway, it's safe to say that I will soon stop playing, once I've finished the 70+ goals of the game.

TUESDAY

Pulp Fiction is one of my favourite movies ever.
A very good movie poster.

A few weeks ago I was at Carlingford library and they had a copy of Empire magazine with a poster like that in it. It was very tempting to just rip it out and take it. Seriously if anyone reading this has a Pulp Fiction poster, I'd like to buy it.

Anyway the outstanding thing about this film it maintains a firm grip on your balls. The dialogue seems pointless but somehow works because the characters are so vivid.

Take Jules Winfield (Samuel L. Jackson). The best description of him is probably 'bad motherfucker'. In fact, that's what it says on his wallet. He's a hitman, who likes to recite Ezekiel 25:17 before popping a cap in people's asses. You could put every line he says in the movie on a t-shirt and people would buy it.
A pretty crazy guy

I like pretty much all of Tarantino's films but you really can't get past the iconic appeal of this one. Inglourious Basterds was pretty good but I'd have to watch it again to decide whether its as good as this.

FRIDAY

I haven't watched The Dark Knight (nor Batman Begins) for about a year and a half. I'm not sure whether I'll like it more because I've read so many Batman comics now or if I'll like it less because it won't match up to the comics. Thinking back, I really liked the movie so I'll have to watch it again in the holidays.

Anyway, for lack of more interesting topics, here's some cool flash games:

Steambirds: Tactical game where you control airplanes. It's pretty slick and you need to think a bit in the later levels. 4/5!

The Company of Myself
: Very short but a thoroughly enjoyable game, with a clever storyline (for a flash game). I felt more emotion playing this than I have had watching some movies.

Should my life continue to lack any witty/fascinating anecdotes, I will resort to posting blogs about good movies.

SATURDAY

For the past few days I've been downloading all sorts of apps for my iPod. Not just games but utilities and productivity tools. The best app I downloaded was probably Assassin's Creed for iPod which I couldn't stop playing. It actually annoyed my parents because I'd spend hours playing it instead of doing my work.

Sleep Cycle Alarm didn't quite work because the iPod fell off my bed. That meant it couldn't pick up on my nocturnal movements and wasn't loud enough when it rung. I downloaded AppBox, which isn't as useful as the description says. The dictionary.com app is pretty useful (and free), though I only got it because I saw Tim use it. He was typically trying to impress me with his repertoire of vocabulary and used it to find the meaning of a word I didn't know.

SUNDAY

Amazing fact of the day:

Longest Piano Pieces ever Written

Opus Clavicembalisticum- Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji (4.5 hours)

The History of Photography in Sound
- Michael Finnissy (5.5 hours)

The Road - Frederic Rzewski (10 hours)

Beatus Vir - Jacob Mashak (11 hours)

Keep in mind these pieces are non-repetitive. The last two have never been played in one sitting by a single person.
